Derived from words ‘suburban’ and ‘purgatory’, ‘Surgatory’ is a new ABC comedy series created and written by Emily Kapnek. The story follows changes in the lives of a single-father and his daughter as they move from the New York City to a small suburban town.

George and his wife were divorced when their daughter Tessa was still very young. Since then George has reared the young girl all by himself and has managed to do it pretty well. He, however, gets a little concerned when he discovers a package full of condoms in the nightstand of her daughter. She is only sixteen and this worries George very much. Because he wants the best for his daughter, he decides to move to a small city where he thinks his daughter would get a better environment for growing up.
Relocating to a small town from the big city doesn’t prove to be easy for both of them. They have to make adjustments, especially Tessa. She is amazed by the ladies there who love her so much. At the same time she hates their children who badmouth about you behind your back. Still the father-daughter find the small city life quite pleasing.
Jeremy Sisto plays George and Jane Levy portrays as Tessa in the series. Other important cast members include: Dallas Royce (Cheryl Hines), Dalia Royce (Carly Chaikin), Mr. Wolf (Rex Lee), Noah Werner (Alan Tudyk) and Lisa Shay (Allie Grant).
The series is premieres on September 28 on ABC and we will be following it closely to keep you updated about interesting news concerning the show. So don’t forget to come back!
